Working Principle of Slide Chute Color Sorter

 

1. Feeding stage of slide chute color sorter machine:

 

Material input: The granular materials to be sorted are put into the hopper at the top of the color sorter.

 

Vibrating feeding: Through the vibration of the vibrator in the feeding device, the materials fall evenly along the feeding distribution trough of the slide chute. The vibration serves to promote the continuous forward movement of the materials on the one hand, and on the other hand, it can loosen the materials to avoid accumulation or caking, so that subsequent sorting can be better performed.

 

2. Transmission stage of slide chute color sorter machine:

 

Accelerated sliding: After being accelerated by vibration at the upper end of the slide chute, the materials slide down along the slide chute and enter the sorting box. In the design of the slide chute, factors such as its inclination angle and surface smoothness are precisely designed and adjusted to ensure that the materials can enter the sorting area at an appropriate speed and state.

 

Single-layer arrangement: During the sliding process of the materials in the slide chute, they will gradually form a single-layer state with uniform speed. This can ensure that each material particle can be independently detected and sorted, avoiding mis-selection or omission due to material overlap.

 

3. Detection stage of slide chute color sorter machine:

 

Optical imaging: After entering the sorting box, the materials pass between the image processing sensor (such as a CCD camera) and the background device. Under the illumination of the light source, the materials will reflect or transmit light. The CCD camera receives the combined light signal from the selected materials and converts it into an electrical signal. Different colored materials have different absorption, reflection, and transmission characteristics for light, so the light signals received by the CCD camera will also be different.

 

Signal generation and transmission: After the CCD camera converts the light signal into an electrical signal, the system will amplify and process these signals and transmit them to the operation processing system (such as an FPGA + ARM system). The operation processing system will analyze and judge the color information of the materials according to the preset color parameters and algorithms to determine which materials are qualified products that meet the requirements and which are off-color particles or impurities that need to be removed.

 

4. Sorting stage of slide chute color sorter machine:

 

Instruction issuance: When the operation processing system judges that a certain material particle is an off-color particle or impurity, the control system will issue an instruction to drive the ejection solenoid valve to act.

 

Pneumatic ejection: After the ejection solenoid valve is opened, a high-speed air flow will be ejected to blow the off-color particles or impurities off their original falling trajectory and make them fall into the defective product trough; while the qualified products that meet the requirements will continue to fall and finally enter the finished product trough, thus realizing the fine selection of materials.
